Vasif Hasirci has expertise in biomedical, biotechnological and nanotechnological applications of natural and synthetic polymers. He is the Founding Director of the Center of Excellence in Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering at METU, Ankara, Turkey. He retired from METU Dept. of Biological Sciences and is now a professor at Acibadem University (ACU) Dept. of Biomedical Engineering. He is the Director of ACU Biomaterials Center that he established and the Chair of the ACU Biomaterials Graduate Program. He is an Associate Editor of Frontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology and also of Exploration of BioMat-X and serves on the Editorial Boards of several journals including Biomaterials; Bioactive Materials, J. Biomaterials Science: Polymer Edn., and Nanomedicine. He is a Fellow of the Science Academy (Turkey), the International College of Fellows of Biomaterials Science and Engineering (IUSBSE), and Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC)(UK). He is also a Honorary Member of the European Society for Biomaterials. He is the founding President of the Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering Society (Turkey). He is one of the initiators of BIOMED Biomedical Science and Technology Symposia in 1994. Dr. Hasirci is the recipient of Scientific and Technical Research Council (TUBITAK) Encouragement Award (1982), METU M. Parlar Science Award (2001), Sedat Simavi Medical Sciences Award (2017), HASVAK Study of the Year Award (2017).

Professor Cooper-White was awarded his Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical) in 1991, University of Queensland, and thereafter worked for Shell (Australia) Pty. Ltd. for 5 years as a practicing chemical engineer and processing manager. He was awarded his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering (Rheology and thermodynamics of biomedical polymers and their blends), UQ, in March 2000. He subsequently held a postdoctoral position at the University of Melbourne (UMelb) under the mentorship of Prof. David V. Boger and joined the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at UMelb as a tenured Senior Lecturer in early 2003. In 2004, he was recruited to the University of Queensland (UQ) to head a new initiative in Tissue Engineering in the Department of Chemical Engineering and in 2007 was promoted to Professor of Bioengineering.
Professor Cooper-White has over 250 scientific publications, including >250 journal articles, 11 invited reviews and 7 book chapters, along with >150 conference abstracts. His work has been published in high impact journals (including Nature, Chemical Reviews, Advanced Functional Materials, Advanced Science, ACS Nano, Science Advances, Nature Communications, Nature Protocols, Nature Microbiology, Cell Stem Cell, Biomaterials, Biomacromolecules, Lab on a Chip, Stem Cells, Stem Cells Trans Med., APL Bioengineering), and has been cited >18,000 times (H index 69). His publications have had broad impact with 16 having >200 cites, 47 papers having > 100 cites and over 100 papers having greater than 50 citations (Google Scholar 06/02/24). ~20% and 63% of his papers are in the top 10% and top 25%, respectively, of most cited papers worldwide, ~60% are published in to the top 10% of journals, and ~40% are co-authored with international researchers (SciVal 02/2024). Many of these papers in the top 1% of papers in terms of citations in the fields of “Engineering” or “Materials Science” or “Biology and Biochemistry” for the period of 2013-2023 (Incites ESI (2013-2023)). In his topical areas of core expertise, his FWCI is 4.22 (mechanotransduction, extracellular matrix) and 1.88 (Tissue Engineering). His overall FWCI is 1.56.
Professor Cooper-White has given a total of 22 plenary, 54 keynotes, 49 Invited talks in his career, with most recent being TERMIS World Congress 2021 (Frontier); World Congress on Biomechanics 2022 (Plenary); TERMIS-Asia Pacific 2023 (Plenary). He reviews for the above listed journals along with others in his fields and has served on the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) review panels for Centres of Research Excellence (2011) and Project Grants (2012-2014), the Health Research Council of New Zealand Assessment Committee (Biomedical) (2015-2016), and the Singapore Ministry of Education Expert Panel for Life Sciences and Biomedical Engineering (2022, 2023).
Professor Cooper-White has produced 6 Worldwide patents that have reached National Phase Entry in USA, Europe and Australia in the areas of formulation design for agriproducts, microbioreactor arrays (MBAs) and tissue engineering scaffolds. Technologies developed in his laboratory has been commercialised by an Australian SME and a USA-based start-up company.
Professor Cooper-White’s research focuses on understanding the role of microenvironmental cues on stem cell commitment and tissue genesis, and the critical roles that stem cells and their niches play in systemic losses of tissue and organ function as we age. His team applies this understanding to develop biomicrodevices, engineered surfaces and advanced scaffolds for cell therapy manufacturing and engineering tissue replacement or repair, and more recently, nanoparticles for targeted rejuvenation of our aged tissues.

Prof. Guoping Chen is Group Leader of National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS) and Professor of University of Tsukuba, Japan. He received his Ph.D. from Kyoto University in 1997 majoring in Biomaterials and did postdoctoral research until 2000. He became Researcher in 2000 and Senior Researcher in 2003 at Tissue Engineering Research Center, National Institute for Advanced Industrial Science and Technology, Japan. He moved to Biomaterials Center, NIMS as Senior Researcher in 2004 and was promoted to Group Leader in January, 2007. He served as Principal Investigator and Unit Director of Tissue Regeneration Materials Unit from April, 2011 to March, 2017. He concurrently joined the Joint Doctoral Program in Materials Science and Engineering, University of Tsukuba as Professor in 2013. His research interests include tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, polymeric porous scaffolds, photothermal scaffold, nanobiomaterials, biomimetic biomaterials, nano/micro-patterning and surface modification. He has authored more than 300 publications and holds 18 issued patents. He has given more than 150 plenary and invited lectures at conferences. He is Scientific Editor of Materials Horizons. He is Chair Elect of TERMIS-AP. He has received some awards including Young Scientist Award from Japanese Biomaterials Society in 2001, Original Research Award from Japanese Society of Artificial Organs in 2002, Tsukuba Award of Chemical and Bio-Technology from Tsukuba Foundation for Chemical and Bio-Technology in 2005, Biomaterials Advances Innovation Award 2023, Outstanding Scientist Award and Distinguished Member Award of TERMIS-AP in 2023. He is Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, Fellow of American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering and Fellow of International Union of Societies for Biomaterials Science and Engineering.

Dr. Halime Kenar, received her BSc degree from Department of Biology, Middle East Technical University (Turkey) in 2001 and her MSc and Ph.D. degrees from Biotechnology Department of the same university in 2003 and 2008, respectively. As part of her Integrated Natioanal/International Ph.D. Programme, she worked on stem cell biology and stem cell culture in microfluidic systems at TUFTS University Tissue Engineering Resource Center, and Massachussetts General Hospital BIOMEMS Lab, Boston, USA, respectively, in 2006. She was affiliated with Kocaeli University between 2009 and 2019, as a faculty member, where she worked as a principal investigator at the Diabetes and Obesity Research Unit and established collaborations through short visits to University of Copenhagen, Department of Biomedical Sciences (2012) and Stanford University, Bio-Acoustic MEMS in Medicine Labs (2017). Since 2019, she has been affiliated with Acibadem University Biomedical Engineering Department and Acibadem University Biomaterials Center. Her current research is focused on decellularization of human tissues, 3D printing of scaffolds and cell-laden tissue constructs, vascularization in tissue engineered constructs, diabetic wound healing, bone, muscle (skeletal and cardiac) and skin tissue engineering.

Gamze Torun Köse was born in Ankara in 1972 and received her BSc degree in Biology in 1994 and her MSc degree in Biotechnology from Middle East Technical University (METU), Ankara, in 1996. She was the predoctoral fellow at the University of Texas at MD Anderson Cancer Center, Department of Immunobiology and Drug Carriers, Houston, Texas, USA, in 1998-1999 and completed her Ph.D. in Biotechnology from METU in 2002. She established Tissue Engineering and Biomaterial Laboratories at Yeditepe University, Department of Genetics and Bioengineering, in 2003 and became Associate Professor in 2006 and Professor in 2012. Since 2010, she has been Vice President of the Department of Genetics and Bioengineering at Yeditepe University. She is also a founding member of the Biomaterial and Tissue Engineering Association, established in 2008.
In 2002, she was awarded the Young Scientist Scholarship by the Biomaterial European Community (ESB 2002). She received the best thesis awards given by Prof. M. Parlar Foundation at METU with her MSc thesis on Liposomal Drug Release Systems in 1997 and her PhD thesis on Bone Tissue Engineering in 2002. In 2011, she won awards given by LOreal Turkey, Young Women in Science Scholarship, and FABED Eser Tümen Research Scholarship.
Dr. Gamze Torun Köse has 2 European patent, 4 international patent applications, more than 80 peer-reviewed research papers, and 11 book chapters (h index:31 Google Scholar). She was the advisor of 19 MSc and 14 Ph.D. students, and currently, she is the advisor of 2 MSc and 4 Ph.D. students.
Her research area is concentrated on Tissue engineering (Bone, Cartilage, Nerve, Skin); Biomaterials and Surface Modification; Stem Cells (Bone marrow, Adipocyte, Amniotic, Dental Follicle, Dental Pulp, Dental Germ); Drug or Growth Factor Release Systems; Gene Therapy; and Organoid (Parathyroid and Thyroid).

Feza Korkusuz MD attended medical specification in Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology at Gazi University Medical Faculty, Department of Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology between 1987 and 1992 after graduating from Ankara University Medical Faculty in 1986. Between 1989 and 1990 he studied in Osaka University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery from where he graduated with a postgraduate diploma. His clinical and research studies focused on Spine Surgery, Sports Medicine and Basic Research. Dr. Korkusuz worked at Middle East Technical University (METU) as an orthopedic surgeon and Medical Director at the Medical Center, and at the Department of Physical Education and Sports as the Head of the Department until 2013. In 1994 and in 2001 he became Associate Professor and Professor. In 1999 and 2000, he received the METU Prof. Dr. N. Parlar Foundation young investigator and the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) Promotion Award in Medical Sciences.
Between 1991 and 2016, he was a member to the Orthopaedic Research Society. In 2008 he became an active member of the Association of Bone and Joint Surgeons (ABJS), and since 2006 he has been the corresponding and deputy editor of Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research (CORR). In 2017, he became an active member to the Turkish Academy of Science (TUBA). He was the Advisor to the President of TÜBİTAK between 2018 and 2021. He currently is the Chairman of the Department of Hacettepe University Medical Faculty, Department of Sports Medicine.

Professor Nesrin Hasirci is a member of Middle East Technical University (METU) and Near East University (NEU). At METU, she was the establisher and the first Head of the Graduate Department of Biomedical Engineering, and have been the Head of the Graduate Department of Biotechnology. She also administered as Vice Chairman of the Chemistry Department for three terms. In the years of 1994-1995, she had been at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Cambridge, USA), as Fulbright Visiting Professor granted by Fulbright Commission. Her research area is concentrated on Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering applications of polymers and polymeric composites as well as nano and micro technology. Her works covers the synthesis, preparation and modification of polymeric materials such as, preparation of controlled and targeted micro nano drug delivery systems, novel bone cement compositions, enzyme immobilizations matrices, dental and bone supporting materials, 3D printed scaffolds, etc, and examination of surface-cell interactions of the prepared biomaterials. She has more than 250 scientific publications, 7 patents (3 approved, 4 pending), 22 chapters in scientific books, 3 edited books (2 related to Interdisciplinary Graduate Departments, 1 Scientific about Hydrogels and Biomaterials) and 2 books (as one of the two authors of the ‘Fundamentals of Biomaterials’ (Springer, 2018), and one Turkish lecture book on the same subject. She presented more than 500 talks on international and national congresses, conferences and symposia on which to some of them she was invited and been the plenary lecturer. She organized or been in the organization committees of conferences and workshops on ‘Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering’ subjects. She supervised and co-supervised more than 50 M.Sc. and 20 Ph.D. theses all related to the diagnosis and treatment of soft and hard tissues and organs.
Prof. Hasirci is honorary member of European Society of Biomaterials. She is also ‘Fellow of the Science Academy’ (Turkey). She is the owner of ‘Science Award’ given by M. Parlar Foundation and ‘Technology Award’ given by Elginkan Foundation. She is also member of Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine Society, Controlled Release Society, Turkish Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering Society, Turkish Polymer Science and Technology Society, Turkish Chemical Society, Turkish Fulbright Alumni Association, etc.

Min Wang earned BSc (1985) and PhD (1991) degrees at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China, and University of London, U.K., respectively. He has worked in universities in the UK, Singapore and Hong Kong. Dr. Wang joined The University of Hong Kong (HKU) in 2003 and has been a full professor at HKU since 2008 . He has also been a Guest or Adjunct Professor of several universities in mainland China. He served as Programme Director of HKU’s interfaculty Medical Engineering Programme in 2013-2018 and is currently a member of HKU’s Senate. Dr.Wang started biomaterials research in 1991 and began his work in tissue engineering in 1999. Owing to his contributions and achievements, he has been elected a fellow of several professional societies/academy in the UK, Hong Kong, USA, China and internationally (FIMMM, 2001; FIMechE, 2007; FHKIE, 2010; FBSE, 2011; FAIMBE, 2012; WAC Academician, 2013; FRSC, 2020; FCSBM, 2023).His research interests include biomedical materials, tissue engineering, controlled release, and bionanotechnology. He and his co-workers investigate fabrication technologies for tissue engineering scaffolds, including electrospinning and 3D printing, and the scaffolds developed are used to regenerate different body tissues/organs. Dr.Wang is the Series Editor of Springer Series in Biomaterials Science and Engineering since 2012 and Editor or Associate Editor of several international scholarly journals (e.g., Progress in Materials Science). He also serves/served in the Editorial Board of over 20 international journals. He is/was an elected Council Member of China’s Chinese Society for Biomaterials, World Association for Chinese Biomedical Engineers, International Federation for Medical and Biological Engineering, etc. Currently, he is Treasurer and a member of the Steering Committee of IUS-BSE’s International College of Fellows.

Professor Dr. Ika Dewi Ana is currently a professor of the Department of Dental Biomedical Sciences, Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Gadjah Mada and Head of Collaborative Research Center for Biomedical Scaffolds, National Research and Innovation Agency of the Republic of Indonesia (BRIN) in UGM, Yogyakarta 55281, Indonesia. Her area of interest is calcium phosphate chemistry, tissue engineering, drug and vaccine delivery system, and regenerative therapy. In her recent experiments she has been working with lung-on-a-chip for MicroLung project funded by SEA-Europe. She is also involved in BioTUNE consortium funded by MSCA to fine-tuning cellular behavior and antibacterial and immunomodulatory properties of medical implants. There are 3 research works of her (CHA Bone Graft, CHA-based Hemostatic Sponge for Oral Maxillofacial Surgery, and CHA-based Hemostatic Sponge for General and Plastic Surgery) have been already registered and translated into the market in Indonesia. Two other research works are in the pipeline for valorization: CHA-based Biomedical Membranes and CHA-based Vaccine Adjuvant.
She received national and international awards from tissue engineering and biomaterials societies related to her research. She also received Outstanding Intellectual Property Award from the Government of the Republic of Indonesia in 2014. She recently received Habibie Prize 2022 (the highest prize for Science and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia) in Medicine and Biotechnology awarded by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia. She is also receiver of WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization) National Award for Inventor in 2023.
She has served as an Industrial Committee Member of TERMIS-AP (Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine Society – Asia Pacific) since 2015 and TERMIS-AP Council since 2019. She joints a course in innovation management funded by Rolls Royce, Newton Fund, and Ministry of Research and Technology in 2017 in the Ashridge Business School, UK. Dr. Wei Chen is the dean for the School of CHIPS at the Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University. He held the esteemed position of University Distinguished Professor within the Physics department at the University of Texas Arlington (UTA), Texas, USA. With a prolific academic career, he has authored over 350 publications in renowned scholarly journals, overseeing the compilation of three sets of books, one monograph spanning three volumes, and contributing to the creation of 15 monographs. His works have garnered significant attention, amassing more than 18,677 citations, resulting in an impressive H-index of 67. Notably, Dr. Chen has authored a paper with 773 citations and four others with over 600 citations each. His inventive contributions extend to over 22 granted US patents.
Dr. Chen's groundbreaking scientific endeavors have gained widespread recognition, notably drawing attention from CBS in the USA. In acknowledgment of his outstanding contributions, he received the University Distinguished Record of Research and Creative Activity Award in 2020. His eminence within the field was further solidified by his election as a Fellow of the International Association of Advanced Materials and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (UK) in 2021. In 2022, he received the IMMA Scientist Award for his exceptional contributions to Nanotechnology. Dr. Chen also served as the Director of the Center for Security Advances Via Applied Nanotechnology (SAVANT) from 2012 to 2018, showcasing his leadership and vision in the field. He used to be the deputy director for the laboratory of Semiconductor Materials at the Institute of Semiconductors, CAS and he received the outstanding young scientist award from CAS.

Kezban Ulubayram is a full professor in the Departments of Basic Pharmaceutical Sciences and Bioengineering at Hacettepe University, Turkey. She graduated with a degree in Chemistry from Middle East Technical University (METU) in 1988 and earned her PhD in Biotechnology from METU in 1997. Following this, she conducted postdoctoral research in tissue engineering at Prof. Langer Laboratory, Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Since 1999, Prof. Ulubayram has pursued her career at Hacettepe University, in the Department of Basic Pharmaceutical Sciences. Her current research focuses on biomaterials and cells, with the goal of advancing transdisciplinary concepts for applications in regenerative and personalized medicine. She holds a patent for a tissue engineering product that has been commercialized as a wound dressing.
Prof. Ulubayram has authored over 100 peer-reviewed articles and numerous book chapters on biomaterials and regenerative medicine. She is a member of several professional societies including the European Biomaterials Society, Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine Society, Turkey’s Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering Society, and the Chemistry Society.

Dr. Yilgor Huri is currently a Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Ankara University. She held a postdoctoral appointment at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine prior to joining Ankara Uni. She received her PhD degree from METU and was also awarded an Integrated European PhD within the scope of FP6 Network of Excellence Expertissues. Her research is in the area of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine including stem cell research and engineering of bio-inspired systems mainly using 3D printing technology. She is particularly interested in the development of functional biomaterial platforms to enhance tissue regeneration characteristics that would lead to translatable therapies, with 2 translated products and several issued and pending patents. Dr. Huri's research achievements include several awards such as, Ankara University Incentive Award (2020), METU Parlar Award (2018), Health Institutes of Turkey Aziz Sancar Incentive Award (2017), Turkish Academy of Sciences Outstanding Young Scientist Award (2016) and The American Society for Bone and Mineral Research Young Investigator Award (2013).

We have been committed to the fields of orthopedic surgery, digital medicine, 3D printing of bone and joint biology, and orthopedic rehabilitation for a long time. Our biological 3D printing project has been featured in a special report by Nature. We have undertaken 10 national level projects, including the 13th Five Year Plan Key R&D Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology (Biological 3D Printing), the 14th Five Year Plan Key R&D Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology (Digital Medicine and Micro Nano Biomaterials), the 863 and 973 sub projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the China Engineering Science and Technology Development Strategy Consulting Project. Obtained the first 3D printed medical device registration certificate in China, as well as the first medical device registration certificate applied for by scientific research enterprises under the registrant system. Led the development of 14 medical device standards, including the first biological 3D printing standard and the first 3D printed rehabilitation accessory standard in China. The completed 3D printed lunar bone is one of the smallest joints in human 3D printing. This achievement has been applied for and obtained an invention patent, and has been clinically applied for transformation. Associate Editor in Chief of Digital Medicine and Tissue Engineering and Reconstructive Surgery; Participated in the compilation of 19 monographs, with 12 monographs as chief or deputy chief editors, 1 chief translator and 1 deputy chief translator. Mr Xudong Li, obtained his PhD degree at Queen Mary, University of London, is now a professor of biomaterials in the National Engineering Research Center for Biomaterials, and the School of Biomedical Enginering, Sichuan University, PR China. He was the vice chairman of the first Bioceramic Branch of the Chinese Society of Biomaterials. His research experience covers calcium phosphate (CaP) bioceramics, hydroxyapatite (HAP) coatings/films, inorganic/organic composites, biomimetic mineralization/inorganic morphogenesis (CaP, calcium carbonate and calcium oxalate), collagen and keratin protein biomaterials, polysaccharides and plant polyphenols. His studies have been selected as research highlights by ACS, RSC and Nature China. His current research interests mainly focus on developing novel injectable biomaterials for tissue repair and regeneration as well as synthesizing therapeutic nanoparticles based on naturally reproducible products for regenerative medicine.

Prof. Li Jun received his PhD (1995) and MSc (1992) in macromolecular science from Osaka University, Japan. He is currently a Professor in Department of Biomedical Engineering at National University of Singapore (NUS). He is also a Principal Investigator at NUS Environmental Research Institute, NUS (Chongqing) Research Institute, and NUS (Suzhou) Research Institute. Before joining NUS, he worked as a Senior Scientist at the A*STAR Institute of Materials Research and Engineering, and as a Special Postdoctoral Researcher at the RIKEN Institute in Japan. Prof. Li’s expertise lies across the synthetic and bio-based polymers, and their supramolecular self-assemblies forming nanostructures for various applications such as drug and gene delivery, tissue engineering, personal care, and environmental sustainability. Her current research interests include the controllable synthesis of multifunctional nanomaterials and their bio-application. She was selected in Thomson Reuters (Clarivate) Highly Cited Researchers for 5 times and Elsevier China's Highly Cited Scholars in 2015-2023. So far, she has published more than 200 peer-reviewed journal articles, such as Chem. Soc. Rev., Adv. Mater., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. etc., and these articles have totally been cited over 27,000 times by others with a personal H index of 94 (Web of Science).

Dr. Luo was appointed as Assistant Professor in this center at the same university upon completion of his PhD study. From 2009 to 2011, he carried out his postdoctoral research on polymeric nanomedicines at the Department of Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Chemistry, University of Utah, USA. After returning to Sichuan University, Dr. Luo was promoted to Associate Professor in 2012 and Full Professor in 2013. Since 2016, he is Full Professor and Principal Investigator (PI) at the West China Hospital, Sichuan University, China.
Dr. Luo’s research in the past few years has been focused on stimuli-responsive and biodegradable polymeric gene/drug delivery vehicles and imaging probes for cancer diagnosis and therapy. The main thrust of his research is on the development of stimuli-responsive, biodegradable and functionalized synthetic macromolecules (including functional polysaccharides, synthesized linear and dendritic polymers) as cancer therapeutic and diagnostic agent candiates, and the elucidation of the relationships between their actions and structural features. The multidisciplinary thrust drives him collaboration with experts in clinical medicine, biomedicine, pharmaceutics, imaging, polymer chemistry, organic and physical chemistry and molecular biology.Since 2012, he has presided more than ten projects, including the International Science and Technology Cooperation Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), the subprojects of the Support Program of The MOST, the National Natural Science Foundation of China (six projects), the Outstanding Youth Science Foundation of Sichuan Province, and the International Cooperation Program of Sichuan Province. He has participated in four national projects as a project leader or a core team member, including the 973 Program for Biomaterials, the National Key New Drug Research Program, and the National Key Research and Development Program. He has published more than 80 research papers in prestigious academic journals with an impact factor(IF) >10, and he has received >7000 citations with an H-index of 58. In the past 5 years, he has published more than 60 papers as a corresponding author in top-ranked journals in clinical medicine, medical technology, materials, pharmacy and other journals with an IF>10, among which 19 papers has been published in Adv. Mater. (IF=29.4), and 12 and 20 papers have been selected as “ESI Hot Papers” and “ESI Highly Cited Papers”, respectively. In addition, he has authorized 15 Chinese invention patents (one transferred), and received one first prize in Natural Science from the Ministry of Education.
He serves as Vice Chairman of the Bio-based Materials Committee of the Chinese Society of Biotechnology, an Executive Member of the Imaging Technology Branch of the China Medicinal Biotech Association, a member of the Nanobiology Academic Subgroup of the Biophysical Society of China, a member of the Imaging Materials and Technology Branch of the Chinese Society for Biomaterials, and a member of the Biomedical Polymer Materials Branch of the Chinese Society for Biomaterials.

Gang Liu is a professor at Xiamen University in China. He received his MD degree from North Sichuan Medical College (China) in 2002 and PhD degree from Sichuan University (China) in 2009. Subsequently, He focused his training on nanomedicine and molecular imaging at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) (2009-2011). In 2012, Dr. Liu joined the Center for Molecular Imaging and Translational Medicine (CMITM), Xiamen University. He is now working in the field of Biomedical Engineering to develop various bio-inspired nanomaterials for cancer theranostics. His scientific work has been published as 200+ papers in prestigious journals (Adv. Mater., Nat. Nano., PNAS, etc.), 17 invited book chapter, and 20 patents. Now he is serving as editorial board members for several journals including Am J Nucl Med Mol Imaging, Curr Mol Med, and Quant Imaging Med Surg.

Kelong Fan received his Ph.D. degree in cell biology from the Institute of Biophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, in 2014. After this period, he stayed there to further pursue 3 years of postdoc training and 2 years of associate professor work experience before attaining a full professor position in 2019. He is interested in exploring the novel functions and applications of nanozymes in biomedicine, with a top priority to design functional nanozymes by learning from nature, and to develop novel strategies for disease theranostics. He now serves as the Deputy Editor of Exploration, and has been recognized as a “highly cited researcher” by Clarivate since 2022.

Prof. Haijun Yu is a professor and principal investigator in Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He obtained his Ph.D. in Polymer Chemistry and Physics in 2006 at Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, CAS. He conducted postdoctoral research at Ludwig-Maximillians University, UTSouthwestern Medical Center and Tohoku University. His group is devoted to developing novel drug delivery systems and clinical translation for cancer immunotherapy. His group has developed a set of stimuli-activatable and prodrug-based drug delivery systems with improved drug delivery efficacy and therapeutic performance by overcoming the pathophysiological barriers of solid tumors. Prof. Yu has authored and co-authored over 170 peer-reviewed journal publications including Sci Immunol, Nat Commun, Sci Adv, Adv Mater and so on, with a total citation over 16000 and H-index of 72. He also severs as the editorial board members of several peer-reviewed journals, including Journal of Gene Medicine, Chinese Chemical Letters and so on.

Dr. Ma is a full Professor at Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry Chinese Academy of Sciences (CIAC). He received his BSc (2005) and PhD (2010) in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Northeast Normal University (NENU). After that he joined CIAC as an associate professor (2010) and became a full professor in 2020 in State Key Laboratory of Rare Earth Resource Utilization. Professor Youming Zhang is the Director of State Key Laboratory of Microbial Technology in Shandong Universitysince 2013. As one of the co-founders and chief scientific officer, he was responsible for the R&D in Gene Bridges GmbH in Germany for 13 years. Based on the invention and application of Red/ET DNA recombination technology, Youming Zhang published more than 170 scientific articles and obtained 13 international patents and more than 30 Chinese patents together with his colleagues.
